Profile

Dr. Kuang-Shih Yeh is an independent director of the boards of Fubon Financial Holdings and Clientron Corp, and a board director of Everjoy Health Group (Shanghai). He also serves as Chairman of Taiwan Future Society and Asia Pacific Public-Private Partnerships, and as a Chair Professor of Management at Chung Hua University.

He had been Deputy Mayor of Kaohsiung City in Taiwan between February 2019 and June 2020. Before joining the Kaohsiung City Government, he was the President of Fair Winds Foundation and a Chair Professor of Management at Fudan University in Shanghai. Between May 20, 2008 and January 13, 2015, Dr. Yeh served in government as Deputy Minister of the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, Deputy Minister of Transportation and Communications, and Minister of Transportation and Communications. During his term as Deputy Minister, he also served as the founding Chairman of Taoyuan Airport Corporation. After leaving the MOTC in January 2015, Dr. Yeh was a Professor of Organization Management at National Chengchi University until February 2018.

Dr. Yeh has been an independent director for several major Taiwanese companies, including Bank of Taiwan and Synnex Corp. He is a co-founder of Eztravel, a leading online travel site in Taiwan. Between 2000 and 2001, Dr. Yeh served as Chief Operations Officer for Pacific Broadband Corporation, then the third-largest multiple cable systems operator in Taiwan.

Dr. Yeh was Chairman of the Department of Business Management, Director of the EMBA program, and Director of the Graduate Institute of Communication Management at National Sun Yat-Sen University at different periods between 2006 and 2008. Before joining National Sun Yat-Sen University in 1991, he held an appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. During the academic year of 2005, he was a Visiting Professor at Shanghai’s Fudan University and Beijing’s Tsinghua University. Before entering government, Dr. Yeh was a columnist for Commonwealth Magazine, Economic Daily News, and Commercial Times — three leading business journals in Taiwan.

Education

Dr. Yeh has a BA from National Taiwan University, an MPA from the University of Delaware, and a Ph.D. in Organization Theory and Policy Analysis from Carnegie Mellon University. He is the author of eight well-recognized general management books (in Chinese) and more than 50 academic articles in English or Chinese.
