Mr. Chien-Hua Chen is the founder and Executive Director of Blue Box Capital, an industry-leading securities and asset-management firm specializing in cross-market relative-value investments across multiple asset classes. Blue Box Capital is dedicated to providing innovative and efficient investment solutions tailored to the unique needs of private and institutional investors, with a focus on long-term, stable wealth growth.
Prior to founding Blue Box Capital, Mr. Chen managed the flagship global macro fund at Substance Capital. There he used advanced numerical modeling and macroeconomic analysis, combined with rigorous risk management, to construct portfolios that delivered stable and exceptional returns.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Chen served as senior strategist and Head of Quantitative Investment Strategies for the Asia-Pacific region at Lehman Brothers and Nomura Securities. There he led the development and execution of cross-market and cross-asset quantitative strategies, providing investment advice and asset-allocation solutions to leading global financial institutions. He directed a world-class quantitative research team comprising PhDs and postdoctoral scholars from Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, and the University of California, Berkeley, designing and implementing advanced strategies across global rates, equities, bonds, foreign exchange, commodities, credit, and derivatives.
With a strong academic foundation in quantitative finance and macroeconomic analysis, paired with extensive experience navigating the dynamic global macroeconomic landscape, Mr. Chen has become a trusted advisor for private investors, family offices, and institutional clients seeking sophisticated investment strategies and financial management solutions.
Mr. Chen holds degrees from National Taiwan University and the University of California, Berkeley, and pursued graduate studies at Stanford University.
